Founded in 2000 by Jamie Harvie, the Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Duluth, Minnesota that has spent two decades at the forefront of sustainable systemic change. From pioneering sustainable food systems in health care to reframing public health through a lens of interconnectedness, ISF has supported multi-benefit and community-rooted solutions at the intersection of health, ecology, food, climate, and governance. We now focus our efforts in supporting emerging projects change-makers working at these intersections of impact.
Fiscal Sponsorship
We area growing ecosystem of Fiscally Sponsored Projects (Nodes) in the fields of: Economics, Humane Technology, Youth well-being, Gender and Family Relations, Cultural Narratives, and Environmental Regeneration and more.

We facilitate connectivity, knowledge-share, and opportunities for collaboration and co-learning across our ecosystem of projects, strengthening cross-organizational relational practices and growing resilient networks across sectors.
